Nothing is ever like we imagine it, and maybe that’s a terribly beautiful thing.
The idea behind the name of my blog is hidden in its name – Serein – the fine, light rain that falls from a clear sky at sunset or in the early hours of night; evening serenity.
Everyone has a favourite time of the day – may it be when the first sun rays hit the roof tops , when the midday warmth balms the skin, when the sun disappears behind the horizon or when absolute silence marks the hours of the night. I’ve always loved the time when the day pauses between midday and evening and eventually merges to the sun slowly disappearing at the horizon. Sunsets signify the end of a day, may it have been one filled with joy or such that one may rather forget. They remind you that as of now, today lays behind you and that tomorrow you are granted another chance. Release of rain from a clear sky at sunset may drown whatever you want to leave behind today and clear your view on what you want to do differently tomorrow.
Evening serenity allows me to dive into calmness – it is when my thoughts are bundled into packages that separate the good from the bad of a day. It is when I read and write and, most importantly, be somewhere that is the uttermost from reality, if only for a few spare hours. While writing this blog, I am in the magical place that I call my sweet escape, and I would love to share these few moments with you. A very warm welcome and an enjoyable stay!
